Operational knowledge of financial management theory, esp., how hospitals and their departments develop/balance operating/capital budget for business growth/development. Governmental policies, procedures, and ethical issues controlling the health care industry.
prereq: Basic accounting knowledge, a course such as ACCT 2050, and knowledge of Microsoft Excel are strongly recommended. HSM pre-majors should wait for major status to take this course.
